What was the story on the traction control locking up in reverse. I am new to your channel, and am watching some earlier videos, wondered what the problem might have been. You probably don’t have time to delve into those things but I was thinking what it might be, a speed sensor, maybe a connection, the electronics are a pain.

Have fun with repairs and fighting Deere for the right to repair your equipment, they have been known to lock out new official parts you install so to have a special technician with a company provided laptop to come out and have to reset your equipment and such other sadly people who buy Deere won't know in advance of the hell they are getting into and the borderline illegal and sometimes illegal practices of John Deere. Government juice, Smurf Piss, AKA D.E.F., better get use to it, it's here to stay.................UNFORTUNATELY! ALL the trucks (I'm a professional truck driver for a living) I've driven that have that system are far more cumbersome for our mechanics to keep on the road. I've had far more down time with the DEF trucks, than with the older trucks! If given a preference, I'd rather drive the oldest truck in the fleet, than operate one of them new DEF engines!

In farming, owning your land is like owning a house. Owning equipment is like owning furniture. When you buy more land your seeded acres and income goes up. When you buy better equipment it gets easier to farm what you have. And it depreciates. I'm not sure why Zack would be buying a new tractor, skid steer, snow blower and grader bucket. Were these essential items to the farm ? I think that money would have been better spent on buying land. Zack only owns 1 quarter of land. If you get into a bind with a lack of machinery, you can always rent something. Renting land is way harder than renting equipment. I think Zac's family farms 2200 acres, which is about 15 quarters. Zac owns 1 and rents 4 or 5. I assume his dad owns most of the rest. What needs to happen is Zac needs to increase his land ownership, either by buying out his dad's land or by finding other land to buy. Because that increases Zac's income. As it is right now, Zac is spending his money on grain storage and equipment which doesn't increase his land ownership. I've seen this happen before. The retiring father wants new equipment because it is nice to operate and it doesn't break down. But it isn't in the son's best interest to spend his money on new equipment. The son should be spending his money on land, because land ownership makes the farm. Dad wants to put profit into equipment, which makes it harder (more expensive) for the son to buy out and diverts capital from land purchases. The son needs to buy the land because that increases his income. Zac is 35 years old. Lets say he needs to own at least 6 quarters of land by the time he is 50 years old to be a viable farmer. That means he needs to buy a new quarter of land every 3 years. That means every three years he needs to save enough money to make the down payment on another quarter of land and have enough capital to be able to afford to farm it. We are living in a time of historically low interest rates. Farmers carry a lot of debt and are very sensitive to interest rate increases.

I just stumbled upon this channel. I like it. My wife and I ....yeah kids too are on a 207 acre ranch. Only difference is we have a Doberman as our farm dog. Abby the Dobie, loves watching me work. She finds a nice shaded area, lays down and then proceeds to watch me break my back. Our little ranch is in TN, about 80 miles east of Nashville. Ana the dog looks to be quite similar to Abby.

You guys definitely have newer tractors and a decent “setup” and less scrappy but welker farms are better with horse power and tourqe and they have some of the rarest tractors in the world so welker wins
